The Sunshine Coast: How it Will Captivate You

Kilometre after kilometre of unspoilt, beautiful golden sands lay out before you along the Sunshine Coast, with nothing but great encounters and exciting adventures along the way. Some of the most spectacular beaches in all of Australia arguably lie in this spot, and it has some stiff competition in a country that is already world-renowned for fabulous beaches, invigorating surf and dependable, glorious sunshine.

The Beaches

In this area you are literally spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches, so why not try them all out? There is sure to be something to suit the whole family at each destination. Noosa is ideal for the lovers of the surf—it’s also a great place to learn if you’ve not quite developed your sturdy sea legs yet. There are countless different surf schools in this area, and the waves aren’t as big as some of the other popular surf school beaches such as Bondi. Noosa tends to have more of a chilled out vibe as well, often with less tourists, allowing you to learn at your leisure. GoRideaWave promise that they will have you up on a board in your first lesson, and is apparently Australia’s most loved surf school. If, however, you’re looking for a more relaxing chill out time on the beach, Coolum and Mooloolaba provide perfect locations for just that. These beaches are stunning, and there really is no better way to take this all in than just sitting back and enjoying. To really get the whole benefit of this wonderful area of Australia it’s a great idea to hire a car and go exploring. Apollo Motorhomes argue that hiring a camper or car really is the only way to explore Australia’s East Coast, and discover all the little, quirky places off the beaten track.

A Wild Adventure

This area of Australia is full of a wealth of different things to see and do. One thing that definitely has to be on your hotlist here is Australia Zoo. Coolum Beach is just a forty-five minute drive away from this zoo, which is just so rich with passion from the late Steve Irwin, that you won’t be able to stop yourself becoming enthralled with the story of this place and every single animal that inhabits it. Unlike many zoos, it’s abundantly clear that all the animals here are as close to being in their natural habitat as physically possible in captivity. Not only this but they go to great lengths to protect and look after endangered and injured animals. What’s not to love? According to Australia Zoo one of their biggest focuses is on educating the next generation on how to really respect every species of animal, making this a great day out for the whole family.

Mountains, Sea and Cities

The Sunshine Coast and this region of Queensland as a whole really does have it all, whatever kind of holiday you are looking for. If you want to get off the regular tourist routes and to seek out some adventure and exploration, the Glass House Mountains are a must. This is a group of eleven hills that majestically rise up from the coastal plain on the Sunshine Coast, and this is just one hour’s drive north of Brisbane. According to Abbey Museum this area is steeped in history, and the tale of how they were formed and the aboriginal stories surrounding them are absolutely fascinating.

If it’s a fast-paced, exciting metropolis you’re after then look no further than Brisbane, a city teeming with culture, attitude and quirky vibes—you are sure to never run out of things to do in this fabulous city that is for sure. According to Jetstar it’s Brisbane’s abundance of sunshine and spectacular waterways that are making this city adopt a new air of confidence and style, whilst also retaining its friendless and relaxed attitude that it is so well known for. To really explore all that Queensland and the Sunshine Coast have to offer, though, why not indulge in a cruise that will hunt out all the best stops for you? Planetcruise argue that because Australia and New Zealand are both islands, the best way to get the most out of all they offer is via a cruise to truly experience all the wildlife on land and at sea.

The Sunshine Coast therefore undoubtedly has something to offer for everyone, it is because of its diversity and laid-back vibe that this area is one to surely captivate you. The Sydney Morning Herald argues that our true love for this stretch of coast come from us reminiscing about out our childhood holidays on the Sunshine Coast (or anywhere by the sea), and the joy of bringing our kids back to do the same thing is second to none. It’s hard to argue with that really.
